Rachel Brennan

  Rachel Brennan is a self taught artist and hobbyist photographer. She first picked up a camera at the age of 12 and passionately took advantage of the incredible photo opportunities in her beautiful home town of Heber City. She improved upon her talents throughout her teens and participated in many competitions and school functions. She was accepted into RAWArtists SLC to showcase in 2013. She hopes to one day seek entreprenurial work in Italy and inspire others to make a difference in the world, no matter how big or small. Her top career choice as of now? To be a photo editor for any major company that has great work culture and values. She also has interest in being a photographer for National Geographic because of her love for culture and traveling - regardless of the challenge or danger. To her, that is what makes the work extremely worth while. Driving to a location for hours and sacrificing comfort just for that one perfect shot is her cup of tea. She wants her photos to portray and inspire their own emotions, to tell their own story to the viewer, and believes that you can never stop improving upon your technique in order to do so. She understands that evolution is a necessary key to keep moving forward sucessfully, and to thrive whilst doing so. But for now, it is simply her favorite hobby lead by a dream. Even when it is challenging, it is never work to her, but simply a passion... Okay, realistically, she knows that every day is not going to be blissfully passionate, even when you're doing what you love. She understands that you have to work and try, over, and over, and over again, but to be lead by a purpose and a goal to get through those tough days. It sounds cliche, but she knows that hard work always pay off, and that passion is the main difference between just good-enough-work and quality work. Had enough of the italics yet...?  Like her photography, her art is inspired by culture, emotion, and simplicity. It also dances around themes of the Italian Renaissance, and borderlines upon the fantasy/mythological realms... Or just whatever she generally finds inspiring at any given moment of her life, you know. She dabbles in nutrition, biochemistry, photoshop, lightroom, basic mechanics and woodworking. She currently works for a living and resides in Draper, but tries to never miss a photo opportunity for a potentially awesome shot, whether it be the broad subject of people, or the all-encompassing beauty of this world and nature.
